Robert Sweazy

Robert Sweazy, Concord High School (1949)

Bob’s high school sports career includes three varsity letters in both basketball and baseball as well as two varsity letters in track. His basketball career was capped with Concord winning both the county and sectional tournaments in 1949 and being selected to the All-Regional team as a guard. He scored 337 career points. Coach Les McCuen selected Bob on his All-Time Starting Five. In baseball, he was the starting catcher as a sophomore, junior, and senior and compiled an overall batting average of .415, including .567 as a junior. In track, Bob ran the 440 (best time, 57.9) and ran on the mile relay team.
