Clifford Murray, Concord High School (Coach)

Coach Murray’s basketball teams had an overall record of 177-118 in his 13 seasons, including a 1977 Elkhart Sectional Championship and undefeated 1958-59 regular season. His coaching duties extended to golf and cross-country; he is a charter member of the Concord Athletic Hall of Fame. Cliff says, “I enjoyed working with young people.” Before becoming a teacher, Coach Murray was also a star athlete at Elkhart High (8 varsity letters) and Indiana State University (1951 Basketball All-Conference and selected to ISU All-Decade Team, 1950-59) His education career also included assistant principal and principal. In 1989 he received N.L.C. Outstanding Service Award. Started playing golf at 13 and now enjoys competing in golf against players younger than himself.
